What is The TRAC Project?
The TRAC project is a council run scheme aimed at supporting young people (11-24) at the risk of disengaging with education and at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment, or training). They give schools like Ysgol Y Gogarth an opportunity to engage in accredited/non-accredited courses delivered by TRAC providers like Rewise Learning.
My School My Story Filming Project
Rewise created and delivered a filming project for the pupils at Ysgol Y Gogarth Special School. The activities involved creating and filming content that shows what the students and teachers get up to on a day to day school day.
The students engaged in hands-on lessons on how to use filming equipment, how to direct a short film, and how to interview individuals. The gained knowledge allowed them to become more interested in STEM subjects and improve their confidence in front (or behind) the camera. A short film was created with help of the students named “My School, My Story”.
What We Did:
Provide the school with appropriate equipment to deliver the filming course.
Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to the students.
Ability to work with any child, no matter what their ability.
Improved knowledge on filming and directing from the students.
Increased interest of STEM subjects from students.
Boost of confidence of students in front and behind the camera.
Engagement increased of new ways of learning.
