With the UK ranking amongst the worst of the developed countries for literacy and numeracy levels, there has never been a more important time to tackle low literacy levels. A 2016 survey showed that 1 in 10 English Graduates have low literacy and numeracy levels.
We believe that every young person has the right to learn to read. With increasing understanding surrounding different approaches to teaching, we have created this tool using the latest research into phonics and digital competency that makes learning fun.
This reading tool uses a range of digital and interactive techniques to increase engagement with, and understanding of, the phonics-based reading process. The reader can guide themselves through the stories at their own pace using the intuitive and interactive touch screen technology.
Age-appropriate stories ensure that the phonics-based reading is not a patronising experience for the older reader. By bringing reading into the digital age, we have created a way to bridge the gap and get young people excited by reading.
