4 Different Ways of Learning: How To Make Learning Fun For a Diverse Group of Students

Make Learning Fun Through Different Ways of Learning!

A school classroom will consist of a variety of students who all learn in different ways. Some of your students may be lagging behind the rest as their way of learning has not been unlocked yet. It is important that you experiment with learning methods so you can pinpoint which learning techniques suit your class the best. Understanding these different ways of learning will impact the way you teach your pupils, allowing them to engage and grasp the information you’re teaching. The use of different ways of learning will enable you to make learning fun!

4 Different Ways of Learning

1. Linguistic Learning: Learning by Reading and Writing

The most obvious way of learning is through writing and reading. These students typically learn best through reading books and information then writing notes up. They can express themselves through writing and love searching the internet. This is the easiest and most traditional way to teach. However, it may be considered boring and unengaging. If you are exclusively or mostly using this way of teaching in your classroom, it may come to a disadvantage to your students which are other learners.

2. Visual Learning: Learning by Seeing and Observing

Pupils who are visual learners, learn best through looking at and drawing images and diagrams. These students love doodling and prefer drawing concepts rather than writing them down. When you are teaching these types of learners, the whiteboard is your best friend. Instead of lecturing your students you should explain through drawing patterns and easy to understand diagrams. Visual learners may take a little longer to absorb information you tell them so give them time to draw it out themselves.

3. Kinesthetics Learning: Learning by Doing and Touch

These learners learn by doing, using their body, and sense of touch. They love acting and hands-on activities which connect to the topic you are teaching. These students prefer to physically do the experiment or task rather than just read about it. Adding in projects and activities into your day to day learning will make learning fun and unlock your kinesthetic learners best way of learning. Rewise can supply STEM kits to your students which will enhance the engagement of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics topics.

4. Auditory Learning: Learning Through Music and Sound

This is learning which is reinforced through sound and music. This type of learner prefers to listen to a lecture or even talk through information themselves. Aural learners are really good at verbalising information so these students may be more chatty. If you have these types of learners in your classroom it would be beneficial to add music or video based resources to your learning day. Rewise has an array of different music based resources for your class to make learning fun.

No matter what different ways of learning your classroom prefers, Rewise Learning can create bespoke learning courses and resources for your students that make learning fun.
